With GTA VI just months away, here's a clear breakdown of what Rockstar has actually confirmed, separated from the rumors still floating around.
The release date is locked in
GTA VI launches November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Take-Two's CEO has repeated this date on multiple earnings calls and tied the company's entire fiscal year revenue forecast to it, which is about as firm a confirmation as a release date gets before actual launch day.
Pre-orders are already live
Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026. The Standard Edition is priced at $79.99, with an Ultimate Edition at $99.99.
What we still don't have: Trailer 3
Rockstar has released two trailers so far (December 2023 and May 2025) but hasn't confirmed a date for a third. Fans and outlets are speculating a late-July to mid-August window, partly because Rockstar has a habit of timing big reveals around major cultural moments. As of this post, nothing is officially confirmed — it's still just speculation, so don't take any "leaked" date as fact until Rockstar posts it themselves.
What we know about the game itself
The game follows two protagonists, Lucia and Jason, and is expected to show more voiced scenes, new locations, and HUD details whenever the next trailer does land.
Night Tier verdict
The release date is as solid as it gets this far out, and pre-orders being live means Rockstar is fully in marketing mode. If you're going to pre-order, there's no new information suggesting you need to rush — the date isn't moving. Save the excitement for whenever Trailer 3 actually drops.
